Surface
Texturing with MicroBlasting
Need to alter the finish on a base material? Our MicroBlasting process has been used to improve osseointegration, enhance light diffusion, and increase bond strength. It is the preferred method for generating mechanical interference to improve grip on bone screws, altering the surface finish to impart echogenic properties of guidewires, and blending surfaces to improve cosmetic finishes on sapphire wafers.

texturing?
Whether it’s deburring screws, needles or implants, removing dross from laser cut stents or machining groves in hydrodynamic seals, MicroBlasting technology has a wide range of uses.
Dental Implants
Texturing a dental implant accelerates osseo-integration.
Multi-axis Load Cells
MicroBlasting is used to cut through the black anodize and texture the surface to improve the bond with flex circuitry.
Ceramic Wafers
Texture the surface of a silicon wafer to improve light absorption and decrease reflection.
Bone Screws
Texturing the surface of the screw head improves the mechanical bond with its mating fixation device.
Need to improve bond strength
Ra or Sa alone cannot predict bond strength in all applications. Epoxied surfaces, in particular, require a more comprehensive specification. To get repeatable results in pull and peel tests, incorporate a high developed surface ratio (Sdr) and require full coverage.

“Where did these stripes come from?” This is a question we hear in automated texturing and etching applications. Most customers want to avoid creating a barber-pole or stripe pattern on their part surface.

The AccuFlo® and ProCenter Plus package produces a steady flow of abrasive which ensures consistent results. It processes parts faster than most traditional micro-abrasive blasters, and it does so with greater powder efficiency. The AccuFlo is able to handle a wide-range of abrasives and suits most MicroBlasting applications.
